Partly Facetious: on Eid she was as professional as male colleagues
"So the moon controversy once again hit the country."
"Hey, be happy that in the end greater sense prevailed and we all celebrated Eid the same day."
"You think it was political?"
"If it was then I have great respect for our current batch of politicians - it's no mean feat that all of Pakistan celebrates Eid the same day."
"You know I just went to sleep thinking the next day will not be Eid. And when I got up for Sehri and switched on the TV it was then I learnt that if I fasted some may call me a Shaitaan."
"What in the world are you referring to?"
"I grew up with the view that if you fast on Eid you are a Shaitaan."
"Ah yes, so you have to thank the media, the TV channels, for saving you from getting that epithet."
"But Shaitaan is also a rascal, right?"
"Shaitaan is the devil and..."
"Yes in capital letters but don't we refer to naughty children as Shaitaan...?"
"I don't know where this silly conversation is leading to?"
"Well, all I can say is that the shaitaans forced Asif Zardari and his parrot Gilani to say their Eid prayers in their official residences."
"From where I am sitting I can say that Sherry Rehman was a Shaitaan by abandoning the President and the Prime Minister during Eid prayers."
"Don't be facetious."
"Well, she set the mood for the new administration by shaking hands with people and being as professional as her male colleagues."
"I thought she was more professional."
"OK, so she should have offered her Eid prayers with her male colleagues."
"Let's be honest - she is not President Zardari's colleague."
"OK, so what about the parrot?"
"I rest my case."
